How do I setup and use Advertising Codes? Follow

Overview

GlasPacLX Advertising Codes are set up as a multilevel hierarchy which enables CSRs to enter advertising codes, subcodes, and individual references during order entry, making it possible for you to award or recognize other organizations or individuals who promote business for you.

 

Setting up Advertising Codes

Use the following instructions to set up the Advertising Codes that appear on the General Info {F8} order entry window.

  1. From the Lists menu, select Advertising Codes to display the following window:
  2. Select the Insert Item
  3. In the "ID" field, type a short identifier to describe the business, person, or advertisement media that informed the current customer about your shop, such as "MNKE."
  4. In the "Description" field, type the full description of the business, person, or advertisement media corresponding with the ID you just entered, such as "Meineke."

Creating Sub-Codes (optional)

 

The buttons under the Sub Codes column give you the option of further defining the existing advertising codes and lets you specify individuals for referral recognition purposes.

  • The “Edit List” button indicates that the advertising code has sub-code(s) and shows how many there are, if available.
  • The “Create List” button indicates that no sub-codes exist for the advertising code and lets you create a sub-code list.

 

  1. To create a sub-code for an advertising code, select the Create List button to display the following window:
  2. The Advertising Sub Codes window, lets you enter you can enter different branches of a business, names of different media organizations, etc.
  3. Select the Insert Item button to add a new line.
  4. In the "ID" field, type a short identifier to describe the specific subdivisions of the Advertising Code you entered previously. This could be the various branches or locations of the main business or names of different newspapers or radio stations. In our example, we used "ES."
  5. In the "Description" field, type the full description of the business, person, or advertisement media subdivision corresponding with the ID you just entered. In our example, we used "Eastside" to represent one of the common branches of Meineke.

Assigning Branches

  1. Under the “Branches” column, click on the Select button for each of the advertising subcodes to display the following window:
  2. Select the checkbox(es) next to the branch(es) that can use this advertising subcode.
  3. Select the Save button to return to the Advertising Sub Codes window.

Requiring References (optional)

  1. If you want to require the entry of the specific individual(s) who referred the customer to you, select the Require Reference
  2. Now, when this sub-code is selected as an Advertising SubCode on an order, the following “Advertising Reference” field appears on the General Info {F8} window, so you can enter the individual’s name.
  3. Select the Save button to return to the Advertising Codes window.

 

To add more advertising codes, repeat the previous steps.

To save the data you’ve added and close this window, select the Save button.
