Installing Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Express SP2 Follow

Overview

Customers may need to have Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Express SP2 (SQL) installed on their computers or servers to use GlasPacLX (LX).  This version of SQL is the minimum supported version for Windows 8, 8.1, Windows Server 2012, and 2012 R2.

Download from Microsoft

The download can be obtained from Microsoft at the following location:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30438

Once you are on the website, click the red Download button.

Put a check in the box to the left of the SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe entry, and click Next.

Select where you want to save the file and allow it to download.

Installation

Launch the SQL installation application

On the SQL Server Installation Center window, select Installation on the left side of the screen, and then click New Installation... on the right side of the screen.

Accept the license terms

Leave all Features checked

Change the Named Instance to GTS

Change the Account name for SQL Server DB Engine to AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and the Startup Type on SQL Server Browser to Automatic

Changed Authentication mode to Mixed Mode. Enter the GTS sa password.  Under the SQL Server administrators window, remove the current name and add the local computer's Administrator account.  Note:  You cannot leave is box empty, or you will not be able to continue.

Leave the Error reporting check box blank

Allow the features to install

Once install is completed, this screen should appear with no errors.
