Uninstalling the ComApp

If the ComApp is failing to start and possibly saying that a dependent service failed to start or does not exist, then it is best to remove the service and recreate it. Use the following command to remove the ComApp:

sc delete ComAppService

Verify that the service no longer exists by clicking on Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and search for GTS ComApp.

Once the ComApp has been removed, use the following commands to recreate the ComApp service:

  1. Open a Command Prompt (CMD from the Run or Search options under the START button)
  2. Change the directory to the applicable .Net folder
    1. For versions of GlasPac LX prior to 6.31, use the following:
      • CD \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
    2. For version of GlasPac LX 6.31 and later use the following:
      • CD \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
    3. Run the .NET service installation utility
      • installutil "c:\GTS\glaspacLX\Communications Applet\comappservice.exe"

Verify that the service has been created, and then start the new service and it should now work correctly.
